Hey Marcus…thanks for stopping by! Actually, there is no other volume, I was just suggesting that if they only included less than half of his sermons the title of the book should not have been “The” Collected Sermons. Just a little quibble – maybe there will be a volume 2 out sometime. But for the present, just go to Amazon or CBD and search for “The Collected Sermons of Dietrich Bonhoeffer” (edited and introduced by Isabel Best). And yes, the Gideon sermon is there, starts on page 67.

Another favorite was a sermon on the Rich Man and Lazarus (starting on p. 33). That is the sermon that the example of the red apple and the glass of water comes from. Powerful stuff.

Luke, thanks for the link! That was a great synopsis (kind of wish I had thunk of it). I will definitely put that in the file – maybe after I forget who I stole it from I will recycle it as one of my original thoughts. I am not familiar with Devries, but he sure nailed it with that example. And how sad – not only for youth ministry but for every ministry in the church.
